Research Interests

Study and modelling DMS(P) cycle in the Southern North Sea by combining: (i) laboratory-controlled experimentation with monospecific
phytoplankton cultures; (ii) field measurements and (iii) mechanistic modelling (MIRO-DMS model) in order to assess biotic (phytoplankton
diversity) and abiotic (temperature, light, salinity, nutrients, wind speed) controls of DMS(P) production and its emission to the atmosphere.

Supervisor: Gypens Nathalie       Co-supervisors: Alberto Borges (ULg)
